Playwriting

I have hosted some of my plays on New Play Exchange, featuring my plays Knossos, The Fifteen, and I Am Not Supposed to Be Here. Below I’ve listed their synopses for those who would like to learn more.

Knossos:

On the last night of the Minotaur’s life, his sister Ariadne travels to the bowels of the labyrinth to speak with her brother one last time. What follows is a story of hate, hope, rage and forgiveness, and a cycle that, if the Minotaur has anything to say about it, will be broken at last.

This is a one-act, full length play that calls for three actors. Run time: approximately 85 minutes.

The Fifteen:

Joe, who has recently moved in with his long-term, long-distance girlfriend to the city of Philadelphia, agrees to get her lunch during his 15-minute break. However, the journey to deliver her lunch from South Street to his girlfriend’s place of work at a local university leads to more chaos than he bargained for, such as having his new boss spam text him, being caught in the middle of hobo fight club, and eventually hallucinating a talking hoagie. Of course, the question remains: will Joe be able to bring his girlfriend her lunch in time?
Go birds.

This is a fifteen-minute play that calls for four actors doubling in seven separate roles. Originally written for a fifteen-minute play festival to take place in Lake Nona, FL, that was unfortunately canceled before the play could be fully produced.

I Am Not Supposed to Be Here:

A man wakes up in a prison cell ten minutes before ‘lights out,’ and learns very quickly from his fellow prisoners that the world does not operate as it appears to be.

This is a fifteen-minute play that calls for five actors (with one doubling as an off-stage voice-over role).
